How to use Customer Reviews to Drive Your Business

Let’s face it, sites dedicated to consumer reviews have given customers the power to make or break your business. Whether you like it or not, they are here to stay. Now is the time to embrace consumer reviews and use them to your advantage. Think of these sites as a tool to drive your business.

1. Promote the Positivity

If your business is receiving positive reviews, don’t be ashamed to flaunt it. Make your reviews visible on your website for your customers to read. If you’re enthusiastically showing off customer feedback, the consumer will perceive your business to be consistent with great customer service.

2. Include Customer Feedback as a Reference

It’s perfectly okay to provide customer reviews in a testimonial or sales pitch. If your feedback is relevant, simple, and your customer has graciously given you permission to use their words, by all means take advantage of the positive review. Customers like to see peer reviews and gives your business more credibility to a potential customer.

3. Create a FAQ page

Save your customer and yourself some time and craft a helpful Frequently Asked Questions page. Adding this to your website gives customers a complete view into your business. Many times bad reviews can arise from miscommunications, confusion or a lack of transparency. With an FAQ you can easily avoid these common scenarios and diffuse problems in the future.

4. Respond Respectfully

In the chance you receive negative reviews, don’t let it drag your business down. Responding right away with positivity will ease your customer and prove other readers your professionalism remains during sticky situations. Remember; a lack of response or defensive text can rub people the wrong way, let all current and new customers see you in only a positive light.

5. Humanize your Business by Showing Good & Bad

Showing off the good and a little bit of the bad, makes your company realistic. You and your customers know not everything is perfect all the time, so openly displaying your reviews reminds the customer you’re human too. The more a customer can relate to your brand; the more empathy you may receive, often times resulting in positive reviews.
